Baptism, Wedding and Funeral

Baptism

We are delighted that you are asking about Baptism, sometimes known as Christening. We are here to help you prepare for one of the most important days in your life.

Can I be baptised? Yes, of course! Baptism is open to everyone of any age.

When and Where? Baptism is normally part of our regular Sunday church service so that you (or your child) can be welcomed by everyone into our Christian Family.

What about Godparents?

The person being baptised usually has Godparents or sponsors (for older children or adults), to help them grow in their Christian faith. They should have been baptised, and they are usually adults.

Wedding

We're delighted that you plan to marry and would like to help make your day very special. A service in church is personal, meaningful, spiritual and beautiful, just as you want it to be.

The service we offer takes place following a Civil Marriage, either in France, or in another country.

The relationship you will build with a member of the Ministry Team will mean you can be involved in making choices about your ceremony. And after your wedding, you’ll realise that a church is more than simply a venue. We’ll always be here for you.

Funeral

If someone you know and love has died, the funeral can be held in church, in a village cemetery, by a graveside, or at a crematorium. A member of the ministry team will be there to support you every step of the way and we are here to help you for as long as you need.

Our clergy and authorised lay ministers will offer pastoral care and practical advice on funerals and will be with you.

The message at all Church of England funerals, is one of hope. Although there is sadness because someone you know and love has died, in every funeral there will also be a message of hope in life after death.

Contact us as soon as practical after your bereavement so that we can start to help and support you.

How can I find out more? Contact via the button below, and we will respond as rapidly as possible.
