Safeguarding in the Chaplaincy

  • Within the policy of Promoting a Safer Church we are committed to implementing the Diocesan Safeguarding Policy

  • Every member of the Chaplaincy will commit to support and protect children, young people and vulnerable adults.

  • The Chaplaincy recognise that our work with children, young people and vulnerable adults is the responsibility of each and every member of the chaplaincy.

  • We undertake to select all our Worship Centre Safeguarding Officers in line with the Diocesan policy, to support them and to provide and fund training for them.

  • The Chaplaincy will care pastorally for victims/survivors of abuse and other affected persons.

  • The Chaplaincy will care pastorally for those who are the subject of concerns or allegations of abuse and other affected persons.

  • The Diocese will lead the chaplaincies actions in responding to those that may pose a present risk to others.

  • The Chaplaincy undertake to receive any complaints seriously and respond to them promptly.
